The Best Flowers to Salute Your Loved One on Veterans Day

thumbnailWith the signing of the Treaty of Versailles, World War I officially ended on November 11, 1918. The following year, President Wilson declared that November 11 would be known as Armistice Day in recognition of those who died in service to the United States of America as well as those who continued to serve their country.

Over the years, Armistice Day became Veterans Day, but the meaning hasn’t changed. With November 11 right around the corner, it’s time for you to think about the perfect ways to salute the veterans you know. At Gainan’s Flowers and Garden Center, we have a tasteful selection of arrangements to honor the veterans who are still with us or to remember those who have passed.

One of the best ways to remember those who have served our country is to decorate your home with a special Veterans Day reminder. Gainan’s Flowers has several special bouquets that will help you remember a spouse, child or other loved one who has served in the military. Try our classic “Hope and Honor” basket. Red and white carnations will look lovely against your patriotic decor.

Send Flowers to a Veteran

If you’re looking for a special gift to send to a veteran you know, elegant floral arrangements make a great formal salute. The “Rose Tribute,” with two dozen red roses in a sophisticated Noble Heritage urn, is a beautiful way to show your gratitude.

One of the most sentimental Veterans Day traditions is the display of floral memorials to honor the memory of those who have given their lives in service to this country. Gainan’s Flowers has several beautiful memorials that are perfect for any ceremony or service. With red carnations, blue delphiniums, white lilies and white snapdragons, our “Sacred Duty” spray is a beautifully patriotic memorial. The “Patriotic Spirit” wreath is another excellent choice. This wreath is made entirely of white flowers and it’s topped with red carnations, blue delphinium and red, white and blue ribbon.

You can also send your sympathy to families who have lost a loved one overseas. Our “Tender Tribute” is an elegant gift. Made with white lilies, red glads, carnations, myrtle and sword fern, this arrangement is a tasteful way to show you care. We also offer the red, white and blue “With Distinction” arrangement. Roses, carnations stocks, delphinium, hydrangea and more combine to make a beautiful way to remember fallen soldiers.

However you choose to honor veterans, Gainan’s Flowers and Garden Center has the perfect bouquet or memorial. Show your appreciation by sending a beautiful floral salute to veterans and their families on this Veterans Day.thumbnail-2
