Holiday Weddings that will Warm Your Heart

There’s a good reason why they call the Holidays the “most wonderful time of the year.” Few other seasons have that special festive spirit. If you’ve set your wedding date for Christmas, New Year’s or somewhere in between, you’ll need gorgeous seasonal flowers for the ceremony, reception and more. Check out the selection of beautiful wedding flowers that Gainan’s Flowers has to offer!

Decorating with Red and Green

A red and green Christmas wedding is a beautiful thing. Just imagine all the wonderful opportunities to use pine boughs, mistletoe, ivy and other Christmas greens as part of your decor. And that’s only half of your color scheme! To add reds, use roses, carnations or even gerbera daisies.

Potted plants also give you several red and green options. Chief among them is the poinsettia. Use them wherever you need a little extra Christmas color – around the altar, on the tables at your reception or as decorations to welcome your guests to the ceremony. Amaryllis is another great choice. These blooms make a big statement, which makes them perfect for centerpieces, decorations for the bridal party’s table and more.

Using Winter Whites

A wedding done in pure white has a simple elegance that is perfect for a holiday wedding. You can choose between bright, snowy whites or creamy off whites that add a little extra warmth to a chilly day. Lilies – either Asiatic lilies or calla lilies – are wonderful frosty white flowers that will add an upscale look to your wedding. Roses, daisies and mums come in shades of off-white that will lend an air of old-fashioned romance to your wedding.

The Other Colors of the Season

Blue, silver and gold are all very popular among both Christmas and New Year’s decorations, which means that they’re a gorgeous addition to your holiday wedding. For instance, delphiniums come in an icy blue that looks lovely when blended with white, gold and silver. Hydrangea comes in a softer shade of blue that is perfect for adding just a hint of cool, wintery color.

Adding gold and silver to your floral arrangements is as easy as choosing ribbons, ornaments, dipped pinecones or even metallic candles. These two colors are a wonderful way to add a little glitz and glamor to your big day.

Our wedding gallery has many more ideas for adding warmth, light and elegance to your wedding and reception. When it’s time to choose your Christmas or New Year’s wedding flowers, come to Gainan’s Flowers. We are happy to show you our selection of amazing holiday blooms!
